Heavy Fighting Continues as of October 29
In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces held off 149 enemy attacks, with the heaviest fighting reported around Kurakhove, according to Ukraine’s General Staff.
Russia launched intense missile and aerial attacks, including 93 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and nearby towns. The strikes included 67 guided bombs and over 4,800 artillery shellings, with 148 of those from multiple rocket launchers. Russia also deployed more than 1,600 kamikaze drones.
The Kharkiv area saw clashes, particularly near Vovchansk, while Ukrainian forces blocked 13 Russian advances in the Kupiansk region. Ukrainian troops successfully defended key positions in Lyman and Kramatorsk as well, pushing back 31 attacks near Pokrovsk and 48 more around Kurakhove.
In other regions, such as Volyn and Polissia, the situation remains steady with no signs of enemy build-up or offensive operations in Siversk, Huliaipole, and Orikhiv. Meanwhile, Ukraine continues operations in Russia’s Kursk region, where 37 Russian airstrikes were recorded, targeting areas within Russia itself.
Russian Losses
From October 28 to 29, Russia reportedly lost around 1,360 troops, nine armored vehicles, and roughly 90 other vehicles.
