US Allows Ukraine To Use Air Defense To Destroy Russian Aircrafts & Missiles Over Russian Soil

US has not placed restrictions on Ukraine’s use of US-supplied anti air defense systems, Ukraine is allowed to eliminate missiles & fighter jets over Russian soil if they pose a threat to Ukraine. According to the Washington Post.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, stated at a press conference in Chisinau. That the United States “not encouraged or enabled strikes outside of Ukraine, but Ukraine, as I’ve said before, has to make its own decisions about the best way to effectively defend itself.”

It was also added that US has adapted and adjusted to the changing conditions on Ukraine’s frontlines, as Russia uses new tactics of attacks & battles being more intense then ever.

After Russia started advancing on Kharkiv, Ukraine asked the US to ease restrictions on the use of US-supplied weapons so they could strike targets on Russian soil.

There are some senior officials who do support this, Secretary of State Antony Blinken supports the lift of restrictions as well. He has urged Biden to agree to the lift, it’s said the white house will consider the proposal but there has been no action taken.

NATO & 7 key European allies are putting pressure on Washington to allow Ukraine full use of all US-provided weapons.

May 2024, there has been discussions about prohibiting Western weapons being allowed to strike Russian forces on Russian soil but that topic has become very heated, 10 countries have gave the green light for Ukraine to strike Russian forces on Russian soil. US & Germany have not, there is no official statements from them on the topic.
