How Putin is ‘reaping the benefits’ of West’s ban on Ukraine striking Russia
Vladimir Putin is reportedly benefiting from a restriction that prevents Ukraine from using Western-supplied weapons to target military sites within Russia.
President Volodymer Zelensky Western partners have prohibited the deployment of supplied weapons, from British Storm Shadow missiles and Scalp from France and the US-supplied ATACMS which are some of the most powerful missiles that have been sent to Ukraine to help fight back against Russian forces.

Recently UK foreign minister David Cameron gave the greenlight for Ukrainian troops to use UK-provided missiles.
There is a report from the Institute for Study of War, they had said this has come “too late” for allowing Ukrainian forces to hold back Russian troops along the border.
This report also added: ‘Ukraine has previously used US-provided HIMARS to devastating effect, particularly in forcing Russian forces to withdraw from the west (right) bank of Kherson Oblast in November 2022 and continue to use HIMARS and other US- and Western-provided weapons to strike Russian force concentrations in rear and deep rear areas in occupied Ukraine.’
‘Ukraine regularly conducts drone strikes against infrastructure and airfields in Russia, but these lack the same interdiction effects that Ukrainian forces now need to generate to undermine the Russian offensive operations.’
‘They would greatly benefit from being able to use advanced long-range weapons systems to disrupt Russian logistics nodes and routes that are currently supplying the Kharkiv offensive but must instead rely on their limited and depleted stock of indigenous weapons.’
The ISW’s warning falls short as Putin is making advances to recapture Kharkiv.
Russian forces are pushing along the northeastern region, also in eastern Donetsk region. This is after months of the 620 mile front line barley moved.
Both sides have been using long-range artillery strikes which has become a war of attrition.
There are claims Russian forces have pushed through the 9 villages along the boarder the past few days, this advance threatens to open a whole new front. Ukraine is trying to send additional troops to the area but Russian forces are advancing through key points along the front line to the south and the east…
Russian Military bloggers have said Putin has been taking advantage of out numbering the Ukrainian troops, Russian troops are pushing hard into relatively undefeated areas with small highly mobile units which are surrounding Ukrainian defense's.
Because of weapon & ammo shortage, also not enough troops. Sadly it is looking like Russian troops may advance through the current front line. This would put them closer to recapturing Kharkiv, this would mean extremely bad news. “This is my own opinion”
